What is the link between CBD and the concentration

Every day we are exposed to a variety of situations. As a result, we face stressful situations on a daily basis, so it's not at all surprising that many need a little help to be able to focus. We all have a solution that allows us to concentrate. For some, it's a snack, while for others, it's a hot cup of coffee. In recent years, the popularity of cannabidiol has grown exponentially. Many people have started to use it to influence, increase or more generally promote concentration. But, the question arises as to whether CBD is indeed effective in the context of concentration. Before answering this question, it is first necessary to identify the different factors affecting our ability to stay attentive and concentrate.

What keeps us from focusing on a task

The responsibility here lies entirely with us, as we have a habit of putting off tasks that we can do now or we put ourselves off to the internet simply because we are not able to give the concentration needed to complete a project or any work. However, when you really need to concentrate, you should know that the slightest noise can totally distract you. Here, the solution is quite simple: banish all surrounding distractions. However, technology is not the only source of distraction; stress, lack of sleep and cognitive problems are also part of it. As much as they can have a significant impact on our ability to focus.

Energy levels and sleep

As we know, sleep is a very important part of a human's life. Not getting enough sleep can affect not only one's health, but also one's ability to concentrate. With a good night's sleep, you allow your body to get the rest it needs. The brain also takes advantage of this to rest and recover optimally.

We all remember the times in college and even school when we stayed up all night to study for an exam but ended up not retaining anything the next day. Well, it is quite simple. The brain didn't get enough rest the night before and you simply forgot all the information you thought you had retained. A lack of sleep can have quite different results than those you were hoping for. First, it hinders your ability to take in details, but you also feel foggy. Your motor skills and judgment are also impaired.

A 2007 study took on the task of properly documenting all the effects that are related to sleep deprivation, primarily those dealing with cognitive performance. This study shows that sleep deprivation affected cognitive function by decreasing it. There is also an increase in cortisol levels, which is a neurochemical.

Cortisol levels and stress

Who hasn't been stressed Stress is a part of everyday life for all people living on earth. But, it is important to know that there are different degrees and circumstances of stress. We are not all faced with the same situations. The causes of stress are multiple. For example, it is possible to be stressed when a very important deadline approaches. It can also occur because of small problems if you are predisposed. Regardless of how stress impacts your life, it is irrefutable that it can affect your concentration and ability to focus fully on completing one task or another.

There are other studies that bear on the potential link that exists between how individuals handle stressful situations and the level of cortisol in the body. Generally, a slightly elevated cortisol level will be very helpful in promoting the body's response to stress. Another study conducted by the University of Limburg also found that high cortisol levels in the body could have the opposite effect and thus decrease attention. So the combination of stress and lack of sleep gives us a very disastrous combo.

What does the research say about the potential effects of CBD on focus

Now that we know the different factors that affect concentration, it is now appropriate to know how CBD affects it.

It is important to know that many people have included the consumption of cannabidiol in their daily routine. But, would this molecule be beneficial to them to increase their concentration? Note that the various researches on all the effects of CBD are still in their infancy, but researchers believe that there is not a plethora of solutions to optimize concentration. That's why they've set their sights on cannabidiol.

While there is no real scientific evidence yet that CBD has an effect on concentration, studies have been conducted to analyze the relationship between the cannabinoid, stress and sleep. As mentioned earlier, these are two factors that quite clearly influence your ability to concentrate. So any findings would be welcome if they lead to a solution that increases concentration.

So a study was conducted on the subject and during it, the interaction between cannabidiol and sleep over a period of 4 days was observed. Researchers from the University of Sao Paulo injected adult rats with different doses of CBD: 2.5, 10 and 40 mg/kg. Compared to a control rat, the researchers said that subjects given 10 or 40 mg/kg of cannabidiol displayed markers related to elevated sleep latency during the day and significantly longer sleep time.

Certainly, this study was conducted on rats and not humans, but the various results that were drawn from it will lay the groundwork for much more extensive and comprehensive studies. It is important to note that falling asleep is not easy for everyone. Daily worries, rumination and stress are at the root of the disruption of sleep habits. So what does the research suggest about this

Another research along these lines noticed the effect of cannabidiol on stressed mice. These were all given a dose of CBD. The researchers believe that the potential stress-reducing effect of cannabidiol may be directly related to an interaction with the CB1 endocannabinoid receptor. By increasing the proportions of anandamide in the brain, the happiness molecule, the scientists suggest that the endocannabinoid system is involved in mediating the stress response.

However, in order to draw any real conclusions on this subject, the results obtained will need to be replicable in clinical trials.

Contrary to THC, cannabidiol does not promote de-concentration

Cannabis compounds don't have a very good reputation. Many people think that all of its compounds, whether CBD or THC, have a bad impact on the ability to concentrate. But in fact, this is not the case. Because of its molecular structure, cannabidiol is not able to bind to the CB1 receptors of the ESC of the body (endocannabinoid system). These receptors are involved in the regulation of motivation. The CBD molecule is then different from THC, which is an addictive substance.

What CBD derivatives are useful for optimizing focus

Cannabidiol is clearly not able to rid you of all your distractions, but it is quite capable of optimizing the body's response to stress and positively impacting the sleep cycle. To improve your concentration, it is recommended to consume CBD oils. These are taken orally. It is also possible to mix it with food to facilitate absorption or take it in capsule form.

The dosage is not the same for everyone. However, the starting dosage of one or two drops should be followed. It will need to be taken twice a day. On the other hand, for subjects with chronic lack of concentration, the crystals are much more recommended, as they have a better concentration.

The entire website should be considered as information. We remind you that before consuming cannabidiol products you should consult your doctor to obtain his approval in your specific case.
